City of Harare’s state of the art polyclinic earmarked for Marlborough has been tipped to be a game changer as it will service several wards around Harare West constituency and serve all classes of society.

The polyclinic will be an extension of the current Marlborough Clinic.

Council recently held a ground breaking ceremony marking the start of work on the construction of the first polyclinic in a low density suburb, a move set to relieve many, especially those in need of low cost maternity services.

Marlborough is set to be the first low-density suburb to have a polyclinic, which is going to be constructed alongside a Fire Station and an Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre.

The construction of the fire Station is expected to boost emergency services response times in the northwestern suburbs as there we no such services in the area.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony held last week at the Civic Centre grounds in

Marlborough, the city’s epidemiologist Dr Michael Vere who stood in for city health director Dr Prosper Chonzi said the department is excited about the project.
